Supporting recovery efforts in conflict areas and facilitating post-disaster reconstruction
Always Be Human (ABH) was born in 2022 out of a heartfelt initiative and shared vision of its founders: to support families who have suffered tragic consequences as the war in Europe resumed, as a new conflict began to burn in the Middle East, and as natural disasters become more frequent around the world.
One of the most common outcomes for victims of conflict or natural disaster is post-traumatic stress disorder (an average of 19% for women and 10% for men). By providing a safe haven and compassionate support, ABH helps these families heal and rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
How we operate
Always Be Human is a regulated charitable organization that is supervised by the Swiss Authorities. It is run entirely on a voluntary basis and all its operating costs are covered by its founders.
Always Be Human is directly involved in funding the work of the association itself or the partner organizations it supports. This ensures that 100% of the donations go solely and exclusively to the selected projects.
Our philosophy
While Always Be Human may respond to emergency requests, the organization’s broader mission and philosophy is to support long-term projects by contributing directly to rebuilding efforts after the spotlight has faded. This approach recognizes that the impact of a war or natural disaster goes beyond its immediate visibility. There are the victims you see today, but there are also the many who may be overlooked tomorrow.
Partnering with like-minded organizations
ABH works with organizations that prioritize directing the majority of their funds to selected initiatives rather than their overhead. For example, when they face a funding gap, they approach ABH for assistance. ABH reviews their proposals and, upon approval by its Board of Directors, provides direct funding for project-related expenses. Examples of such expenses include the cost of materials, transportation, project labor, and more.
